Trail Description

Bert Flinn – Starz Line 1 in Port Moody is a mellow forest loop that’s ideal when you want to stretch your legs without breaking a sweat. At 3.1 km with only about 58 m of elevation gain and a max altitude around 200 m, it’s a true “very easy” trail that most people finish in about 45 minutes. Think shady stroll more than grind, with enough variety to keep it interesting.

The loop winds through classic Port Moody second-growth forest, with soft dirt paths, gentle inclines, and a few side trails if you feel like exploring. The route is generally obvious, though one turn can be a bit less clear, so it helps to keep an eye on your map the first time. You’ll share Bert Flinn – Starz Line 1 with mountain bikers, but traffic is usually light and the trail feels calm, even on sunny days.

Recent hikers describe the trail as well maintained and friendly for people with limited mobility, thanks to the smooth surface and gradual grades. There’s no public washroom at the trailhead, so plan ahead before heading into Bert Flinn Park. This loop works year-round, but April through November is the sweet spot for drier footing and easier navigation, and on hot days the forest shade makes it a comfortable, low-effort outing close to town.
