Trail Description

Blakeburn Lagoons Park in Port Coquitlam is a super easy, flat loop that’s more about fresh air and bird life than breaking a sweat. The main loop is about 2.1 km with only 4 m of elevation gain, so it feels more like a relaxed walk than a hike and usually takes around 20–25 minutes. It’s a friendly, local spot that feels calm and low-key, great for a quick reset in the middle of the day.

The Blakeburn Lagoons Park loop circles former settling ponds that are now wetlands, so you get open water views, reeds, and lots of ducks and other birds cruising around. The trail is wide and well-maintained, with a cosy neighbourhood feel and clear sightlines the whole way. If you want a bit more distance, you can add laps or cut through the middle trail to mix it up without ever straying far from the parking area.

Right now, walkers mention the path as flat, easy, and very stroller and mobility-friendly, thanks to the gentle grade and gravel surface. Expect more people and families on sunny days, but it rarely feels crowded, and there’s usually room to spread out along the loop. Blakeburn Lagoons Park works year-round, though late spring to early fall is nicest for birds and drier footing, and it’s an easy go-to spot when you want a short, no-stress outing in Port Coquitlam.
