Trail Description

Silverdale Creek Wetland Trail in Mission is one of those super short, super easy walks you squeeze in when you just want a quick nature fix. At only 1.3 km with barely any elevation, it’s more of a relaxed stroll than a hike, and most people are done in around 15–20 minutes. It runs as an out-and-back along the wetland, so you get a quick hit of greenery and water views without leaving town for hours.

The trail follows Silverdale Creek through low, flat wetland habitat, with chances to spot birds and other small wildlife if you slow down and look. You’ll hear road noise and see signs of recent city work, so it doesn’t feel wild, but it’s still a calm little break from the suburbs. This is the kind of place locals use for a quick dog walk, pushing a stroller, or letting kids explore a safe, easy path.

Right now, reviews mention big changes from recent city construction, so parts of the Silverdale Creek Wetland Trail look more worked-over than natural, and it has even been reported closed at times, so check current status before driving out. Expect a very short outing, parking along the road shoulder, and be prepared for chilly, damp conditions in fall and winter with rain and slick spots. The route is stroller friendly and flat, but there’s been a lot of dog poop left on the trail lately, so watch your step and maybe pick a cooler, quieter day if you want a more relaxed experience in this little Mission wetland.
