Trail Description

Cascade Falls in Mission, BC is one of those “wow” spots that barely requires any effort. The trail is only about 0.6 km return with 33 m of gain, so most people are at the waterfall in under 15 minutes from the parking lot. It’s a quick out-and-back that feels more like a scenic outing than a full hike, but the payoff is huge.

The path climbs steadily from the trailhead, either up a set of stairs or a short, steeper service road if you want to avoid the steps. At the top, a suspension bridge hangs right in front of Cascade Falls, giving you a head-on view and a good blast of mist when the water is really moving. Below, you can spot deep pools and creek sections, and if you poke around near the picnic area, there are spots to dip your feet or brave a cold plunge when water levels are safe.

This is an easy trail, but the incline and roughly 40 stairs can bug sensitive knees, and the platforms, bridge, and rocks get slick in rain, winter, and leaf season. Recent visitors mention icy patches and slippery railings, so shoes with decent grip are important. Expect crowds on sunny weekends and in summer; arrive early, download your map ahead of time since there’s no cell service, and plan extra time if you want photos without a lineup on the bridge. Cascade Falls in Mission shines in fall and on rainy days too, when the flow is strong and the short walk still feels like a solid little adventure.
