Trail Description

Ridge Run in Harrison starts right from Sasquatch Mountain Resort and wastes no time getting your legs working. This 6.6 km loop climbs about 436 m to around 1322 m, so it’s a solid moderate hike that most people finish in about 2 hours 40 minutes. It’s not technical in a mountaineering way, but the constant rocks and gravel keep you on your toes the whole time.

The loop winds up ski runs and rocky service roads before popping you onto the ridge with wide views over Hemlock Valley and the surrounding peaks. On a clear day you get big open sightlines almost the entire way, and even on a cloudy or foggy day there’s still a nice sense of being up high. The route is generally well marked with flagging, but having an offline map for Ridge Run at Sasquatch is smart in case the clouds roll in.

Recent hikers all say the same thing: this trail is very rocky and exposed, so bring sturdy boots, sun protection, plenty of water, and hiking poles, especially for the last 1.5–2 km of loose gravel descent. In summer, start early from Harrison since the ski hill area heats up fast and there’s little shade; in shoulder seasons it can be cooler and sometimes foggy, which can limit views but make the climb more comfortable. There’s no snow on the route in summer and it’s well marked, but it’s not a great snowshoe option because much of Ridge Run follows ski runs. Parking at Sasquatch Mountain Resort may be gated early, so be prepared to park just outside, and carry bear spray as fresh scat and the occasional sighting are common.
