Trail Description

Maclure Trail Park in Abbotsford is a quick local loop that gives you a decent workout without eating your whole day. The 4.3 km loop has about 120 m of gain, is rated easy, and usually takes around 1 hour and 10 minutes, which makes it a solid option for an after-work walk or a casual run. It’s close to the neighborhood, so it feels convenient but still like you’ve stepped away for a bit.

The Maclure Trail Park loop winds through mixed forest with a few short, steeper sections that get your heart rate up, then eases off into more relaxed walking. The path has lots of turnoffs and side trails, so using a map app helps you stay on the main loop. Views are mostly of trees, nearby houses, and open stretches rather than big mountain vistas, but it’s still a pleasant green space right in Abbotsford.

Recent hikers say the trail is in good shape with mild inclines that make it a good light workout, and trail runners especially like the flow of the route. Those steeper bits can get slick in rain or snow, so wear shoes with some grip if it’s wet and take your time on the climbs. Maclure Trail Park is usable most of the year, with the most comfortable walking usually from late winter through early fall, and dogs are common on the loop as long as they’re leashed and under control.
