Trail Description

Hidden Falls in Abbotsford, BC is one of those tiny trails that makes you do a double take. In just 0.2 km, you leave the neighborhood behind and drop into a shaded pocket of forest with a surprisingly impressive waterfall roaring away just beyond someone’s backyard.

The Hidden Falls trail is an out-and-back stroll with only about 1 m of elevation gain, so it’s short and simple on paper. The path winds through damp, mossy forest before you reach the falls, where the sound and spray hit you fast and the rock walls and flowing water feel a lot more “backcountry” than the location would suggest.

Even though Hidden Falls is rated very easy and usually takes about 2 minutes, recent visitors mention slick sections and rough footing, especially if you wander off the main route like some people do. Wear decent shoes, watch your step near wet rock and roots, and keep an eye on kids, as it can feel a bit tricky in spots when it’s muddy. This one works year-round, but the falls are strongest in the rainy months, and the area can be extra slippery after storms, so plan to get a little damp and dirty on this quick Abbotsford adventure.
