Trail Description

Fork, Nu Speed, Mixed Bag and Autobahn Loop in Abbotsford is a solid forest workout if you want some distance without a huge climb. At 7.7 km with about 350 m of gain, it’s classed as moderate, but most locals would call it intermediate-to-easy as long as you’re used to hills. Expect around 2.5 to 3 hours on your feet, a mix of steady ups and downs, and a real “choose your own adventure” feel thanks to all the intersecting trails.

The loop winds through classic McKee Peak forest: tall trees, good shade, and mostly soft dirt underfoot. You won’t get the big open viewpoints that other McKee routes are known for, so this one is more about quiet woods, flowing singletrack, and sharing space with a few mountain bikers and trail runners. It’s a fun area if you like exploring, but the maze of bike trails means you really need to pay attention to navigation.

Recent reports say the Fork, Nu Speed, Mixed Bag and Autobahn Loop is generally in good shape, with some overgrown stretches where you’ll brush through bushes and brambles, and the odd muddy or slippery patch on steeper sections. People are getting off-route a lot, sometimes popping out near residential streets, so download a map or use a hiking app before you go. Good trail shoes, a bit of food and water, and some patience with the confusing junctions go a long way; it’s hikeable most of the year, with occasional snow in winter and early spring and better footing once things dry out.
