Trail Description
Fishtrap Creek Loop in Abbotsford is one of those quick, no-fuss walks you end up doing way more often than you planned. At just 1.9 km with barely any elevation, it’s an easy 20–25 minute loop that works for a coffee stroll, a recovery walk, or a low-key outing with kids or grandparents.
The loop circles two small lakes and follows Fishtrap Creek on a wide, paved path, with lots of spots to stop and watch ducks, geese, and waterlilies. There are several lookouts over the water, and because the trail is so smooth and flat, it’s wheelchair and stroller friendly, with room for people to pass even on busier days.
Expect an urban feel: it’s peaceful to look at, but there is steady traffic noise from the surrounding roads, and on sunny days you’ll be sharing the path with plenty of other walkers. The trail surface is in excellent condition year-round, and in colder weather you might see frozen ponds but still have clear walking. If you want more than 20 minutes, just link a few laps of the Fishtrap Creek Loop together or explore side paths to stretch it into a longer, easy outing.
