Trail Description

Berminator, Speedway, Da Plow, Flinstones and Federau is a mouthful of a loop, but it’s one of the more fun forest circuits in Abbotsford, British Columbia. At 5.6 km with about 334 m of gain and a high point around 468 m, it’s a solid moderate outing that usually takes just over 2 hours, assuming you don’t miss a turn. This zone is built with mountain bikers in mind, but hikers who don’t mind sharing the woods will find a quiet, low-traffic option here.

The loop winds through classic Fraser Valley forest, with packed dirt, roots, and a few punchy climbs that get your legs working. Views are more about mossy trees, ferns, and the feel of the woods than big panoramas, though you’ll catch some filtered openings and slopes that hint at the surrounding hills. The mix of trail names reflects the character of the route: twisty, a bit playful, and always changing underfoot.

Recent hikers have reported getting off track, and that lines up with how tangled this network is, so download a map or GPS track before you start and check it at every major junction. The trails are mostly unmarked, with lots of intersections, so expect to slow down to route-find. Good footwear is important on the steeper sections, especially in wet months, and this Abbotsford loop tends to work best from late winter through summer, when mud is manageable and daylight is longer.
