Trail Description

Skaters Pond Loop in Maple Ridge, British Columbia is a quick, no-stress walk when you just want to stretch your legs without driving into the mountains. At only 1.9 km with about 50 m of gentle elevation, it’s more of a casual stroll than a hike, usually wrapped up in around half an hour.

The loop is mostly easy gravel, winding through trees with greenery on one or both sides for much of the way. As you circle back, you’ll pass behind some houses on one side, so it has a quiet neighborhood feel rather than a wild backcountry vibe, making it a calm spot for birdwatching, walking the dog, or a simple nature reset close to town.

Current reports say the Skaters Pond Loop trail surface is in good shape and straightforward, with no technical sections to worry about. In September there have been no bug issues mentioned, and the low max altitude of around 56 m means it’s usually snow-free and accessible for most of the year, especially from spring through early fall. Bring basic walking shoes, expect a relaxed, family-friendly outing, and use this loop as an easy go-to when you want a quick hit of green space in Maple Ridge.
