Trail Description

Edge Farm Trail in Maple Ridge is about as mellow as it gets: flat, wide, and easy to follow, with just 17 meters of elevation over 4.8 km. It’s an out-and-back route that usually takes under an hour, so it works well as a quick evening “Cali-style” walk, a family stroll, or a low-key recovery hike. The vibe is relaxed, social, and friendly, and you’ll usually see a mix of walkers, runners, and dog owners.

The walking itself is straightforward, with a smooth path and no technical sections, so you can actually look around instead of staring at your feet. Edge Farm Trail gives you that classic Maple Ridge farmland feel, with open stretches, big sky, and distant mountain views on clear days. It’s more about fresh air, space, and easy movement than dramatic scenery, which makes it ideal if you just want to clear your head and keep a steady pace.

Current reports line up with the stats: this is a very easy, low-effort route that’s good most of the year from January through November, though it can get damp and a bit muddy after heavy rain. Evenings are especially popular for a quick walk, so expect some company but nothing overwhelming. Dogs are welcome on leash, and you won’t need special gear beyond decent shoes; just bring a light if you’re heading out close to sunset, since it can get dim in spots on the way back.
