Trail Description

Rockstar Trail in Maple Ridge, British Columbia is a quick little loop that still feels like a real hike. At 1.9 km with about 74 m of gain, it’s short, easy, and usually done in around 35 minutes, but it has just enough up and down to keep things interesting, especially for kids and newer hikers. It’s a good option when you want to get into the trees without committing half your day.

The Rockstar Trail loop winds through classic West Coast forest, with soft ground underfoot, mossy trunks, and filtered light on a bright day. The inclines and declines are steady rather than steep, so you get a bit of a workout without feeling like you’re grinding uphill. It’s well marked and easy to follow, so you can just walk, chat, and enjoy the quiet without checking your map every few minutes.

Recent hikers say Rockstar Trail is in good shape overall, with a “moderate challenge” feel for kids and beginners and some muddy sections to watch for. Waterproof or at least dark, sturdy shoes are a smart call, especially after rain, since this Maple Ridge loop holds moisture in the shaded sections. Dogs are allowed on leash, and the area is protected for wildlife and water, so stay on the main path, pack out your garbage, and expect things to be wetter and softer through fall, winter, and early spring, then firmer and faster underfoot in late spring and summer.
