Trail Description

123 Bikeway to Cottonwood North Park in Maple Ridge, British Columbia is more of a relaxed cruise than a hike, which is exactly why locals use it so much. At 1.8 km with only 19 m of elevation gain and a high point around 58 m, it’s an easy, no-sweat connection between neighbourhoods and green space that most people finish in about 20 minutes.

The route is a straightforward point-to-point path, so you’re basically following a smooth corridor that works well for walking, jogging, or hopping on the bike for a quick spin. You’ll pass through typical Maple Ridge suburban scenery with pockets of trees and parkland as you make your way toward Cottonwood North Park, with enough greenery to feel like a break from the street without ever being far from houses and side roads.

The 123 Bikeway to Cottonwood North Park stays usable year-round, though expect some wet patches and puddles during the long rainy season in Maple Ridge. It can get busier at school pick-up and after-work hours with families, dog walkers, and cyclists, so go early or later in the evening if you want it quieter. Dogs are allowed on leash, and since it’s point-to-point, plan your return route in advance, either by retracing your steps or arranging a pickup at the Cottonwood North Park end.
