Trail Description

Yorkson Creek Trail in Langley is a super easy, no-fuss out-and-back walk that locals use to stretch their legs, walk the dog, or squeeze in a quick run. At just 3.2 km with only 28 m of elevation gain and a max altitude around 82 m, it’s more of a neighborhood path than a destination hike, usually taking about 40 minutes at a relaxed pace.

The trail runs from Yorkson Community Park by Yorkson Creek Middle School and follows a mix of pavement, gravel, and some roadside sections. Despite the name, you don’t get much of a view of Yorkson Creek itself, so think urban greenway with trees, fields, and a bit of forest rather than a classic creekside trail. It’s straightforward to follow, dog friendly, and works well for an easy daily loop if you live in the area.

Right now, recent reports say Yorkson Creek Trail is impacted by construction near the playing fields, and parts of it may be closed or disrupted. That means it’s not worth driving across Langley for, but still handy if you live in Walnut Grove or nearby and just want a convenient walk close to home. Best use is spring through fall when it’s drier, and if you’re after scenery or a real “river” experience, you’ll be happier choosing one of the many forested creek trails elsewhere in Langley or the Fraser Valley.
