Trail Description
Nicomekl River Trail in Langley, BC is the kind of route you keep coming back to when you just want an easy, low-effort walk with water views. At 5.1 km out and back with only 18 m of gain and a max elevation of around 11 m, it’s more of a relaxed riverside stroll than a hike, and most people finish it in under an hour.
The path follows the Nicomekl River, with open views of the water, duck ponds, and grassy areas that feel surprisingly quiet given how close you are to town. The trail is wide, mostly flat, and straightforward to follow, making it popular for walking, easy running, and casual bike rides. The little suspension bridge along the route is a fun highlight and a good turnaround or photo spot.
Recent reports say the Nicomekl River Trail is in good shape and stays fairly flat the whole way, which makes it ideal for jogging strollers, kids, and anyone easing into walking or running. It can get busy on sunny weekends, so go early or later in the day if you want it quieter. The trail is open year-round, but expect some mud after heavy rain and bring decent shoes; in summer, bring water and a hat because sections feel exposed with limited shade.
