Trail Description
Mclughan Park and Yorkson Creek Trail in Langley, BC is a quick, low-key loop when you just want to stretch your legs without driving out to the mountains. At 2.3 km with only about 27 m of gain, it’s an easy 30-minute outing that feels more like a relaxed neighbourhood escape than a serious hike.
The loop mixes paved and gravel paths as it winds through Mclughan Park, along Yorkson Creek, and behind townhouses and schools. You get a bit of everything for such a short route: shaded sections with trees, open fields, and quieter stretches where you can zone out and just walk or jog. It’s a popular spot in Langley for dog walkers, casual runners, and families with strollers.
Recent walkers mention some sections can smell pretty bad in spots along the creek, but it comes and goes quickly if you keep moving. The trail can get slippery when there’s snow or ice, so decent footwear is smart in winter. Mclughan Park and Yorkson Creek Trail works year-round, but most locals seem to enjoy it from late winter through fall when the path is clear and the trees add a bit of green to an otherwise suburban loop.
