Trail Description

Little River Extended Loop in Langley, BC is a flat, easy wander through classic Fraser Valley forest and fields, great when you want time on your feet without a grind. At 7.2 km with only about 63 m of gain, it’s more of a relaxed walk or light run than a workout, and most people wrap it up in around an hour and a half.

The loop mixes wide gravel paths with more natural singletrack, so you get a change of scenery as you go. Expect forest sections, open stretches, and lots of horse traffic on certain segments, especially Shaggy Main, which can be messy and smelly thanks to all the manure. It’s dog friendly, but on-leash only, and weekends can be busy with limited parking and plenty of users sharing the route.

Recent hikers report very wet conditions with big puddles, some flooding, and a few “off trail” feeling sections where you’ll want a map or GPS to stay on the Little River Extended Loop line. Parts of the speedway heading back to the North Valley parking lot have been closed with detour signs, so give yourself a bit of extra time to navigate. Expect mud, watch for closure notices, and plan this one for drier days from late winter through fall if you want easier footing and less standing water.
