Trail Description

Jackman Wetlands Loop in Langley is a super relaxed 3.2 km loop that feels more like a casual stroll than a “hike.” With only 16 m of elevation and a high point around 97 m, it’s flat, easy, and usually done in under 40 minutes. It’s not a big showpiece trail, but if you live nearby and want a quiet walk with some nature around you, it does the job.

The loop winds around small wetlands and ponds, with gravel paths, tall grasses, wildflowers in season, and the odd glimpse of ducks or songbirds. You’re right beside the Jackman Wetlands disc golf course, so expect the occasional clink of discs and voices, but overall it stays calm and low-key. Views are more about open water, reeds, and fields than dramatic scenery, which suits a quick mental reset walk or an easy jog.

Recent visitors say Jackman Wetlands Loop is great for dogs and a mellow outing, but don’t expect tons of birds or pristine wilderness. The crossing at 8th Ave can feel sketchy, so it’s smarter to park closer to the wetlands than over in Aldergrove Regional Park if that’s your habit. The area can look a bit drab in spots and there have been concerns about wildlife getting stuck in fenced pond sections, so it feels like a place still improving over time; aim for spring through early fall for more flowers, greenery, and a slightly more interesting walk.
