Trail Description
Gordon Greenway in Langley, British Columbia is more of an urban stroll than a backcountry hike, which is exactly why locals like it. At 2.7 km point-to-point with only 7 m of elevation gain, it’s a flat, easy route that usually takes around 37 minutes and works well for all ages, from kids in strollers to grandparents getting their steps in.
Walking Gordon Greenway feels like following a long, well-kept sidewalk with a bit of nature worked in. The path tracks alongside a busy street for much of the way, so expect traffic noise rather than deep forest quiet, but in exchange you get a smooth surface, clear sightlines, and a safe, straightforward route for walking, running, or casual biking.
Right now, reports say Gordon Greenway is closed due to a broken bridge over the creek, so don’t plan a visit until the city reopens it. When it is open, the streets and sidewalks along the route are usually clean and in great shape, and dogs on leash are common. Aim for February through October for the most comfortable conditions, and treat this less like a hike and more like an easy urban walk where you can move at a relaxed pace and still feel like you got outside.
