Trail Description

Garnett Greenway in Langley, British Columbia is an easy, no-stress loop when you just want to move your legs without driving out to the mountains. At 2.9 km with only 14 m of elevation gain, it’s more of a relaxed urban stroll than a hike, and most people finish it in about half an hour. It’s a solid choice for locals looking to squeeze in a quick walk, run, or spin on the bike path close to home.

The loop follows an inner-city greenway roughly along 72 Avenue, so expect paved or well-graded paths, street crossings, and a mix of residential views, trees, and small green spaces. It’s flat, straightforward, and easy to follow, making Garnett Greenway a good option for families, casual walkers, and anyone easing into regular activity. You won’t get big viewpoints, but you do get a safe, predictable route where you can zone out, listen to a podcast, and just keep moving.

Current reports describe Garnett Greenway as very easy going in all seasons, with the route open year-round and generally clear. After heavy rain, watch for a few puddles and slightly slick patches, but nothing technical. Dogs are allowed on leash, and because this is an urban trail in Langley, be ready for bikes, strollers, and the odd busy stretch near road crossings; early mornings and weekdays tend to be the quietest and most relaxed times to walk it.
