Trail Description

Edge Trail in Langley, British Columbia is a quick, no-stress riverside walk that’s ideal when you want fresh air without a big time commitment. At 2.6 km out and back with only about 11 m of elevation gain, it’s more of a relaxed stroll than a hike, usually wrapped up in under half an hour. It’s close to town, easy to find, and a solid option for families, casual walkers, and anyone easing into hiking.

The path follows near the river, giving you steady water views and that cool, damp air you only get along the Fraser. The trail is flat and wide enough in most spots to walk side by side, and you’ll pass a day-use picnic area, campgrounds, and an off-leash dog zone as you go. Expect more of a peaceful park-and-river vibe than a wild backcountry feel, with room to slow down and just wander.

Recent visitors say the Edge Trail is well maintained and straightforward, with good footing and clear routing the whole way. It’s open year-round, but it can be muddy after heavy rain, so basic waterproof shoes are a smart call. If you’re bringing a dog, note that there’s a dedicated off-leash area, but keep an eye on local signs for leash rules on the main trail. Aim for mornings or weekdays if you want it quieter, especially in summer when the riverfront and picnic areas draw more people from around Langley.
