Trail Description
Derek Doubleday Arboretum Loop in Langley, BC is a super short, super easy walk that feels more like a relaxed park stroll than a full-on hike. At just 1 km with almost no elevation gain, it’s ideal if you’ve got kids, a coffee in hand, or only a few minutes to stretch your legs.
The loop circles through the arboretum on a compact gravel path, so it’s smooth underfoot and stroller-friendly. You’ll wander past open lawns, plantings, and a few small garden areas, with enough space to let kids roam while you keep them in sight the whole time.
Recent visitors mention workers using leaf blowers, which can be loud and a bit annoying, so if you’re sensitive to noise, aim for early mornings or off-peak times. Derek Doubleday Arboretum Loop is walkable year-round, but it’s at its nicest from spring through early fall when the trees and garden beds have more color. Expect this to be an 11-minute leg-stretcher, not a wilderness escape, and it does that simple job really well.
