Trail Description
Cloverdale Greenway in Langley is as straightforward as it gets: a flat, paved 6.3 km out-and-back under the powerlines that’s all about an easy walk, run, or bike, not mountain views. With only about 57 m of gain and a max altitude around 68 m, it’s more like a neighbourhood corridor than a wilderness escape, which is exactly why locals use it so much. Think dog walks, stroller pushes, and quick 5K training loops without having to think about roots, mud, or hills.
The route follows the hydro right-of-way between parks and residential streets, so you’re walking a wide, open strip with clear sightlines and a steady crackle from the lines overhead. Views are urban-suburban: houses, fields, side streets, and long straight stretches that feel great for zoning out on a run, especially at sunrise or sunset when the light down the corridor looks surprisingly good. It’s not a scenic bike ride in the classic sense, but if you just want a smooth, traffic-free blast on the pedals, Cloverdale Greenway does the job.
Recent visitors describe the Cloverdale Greenway as very easy, predictable, and safe, with no surprises other than the number of road crossings along the way, which can break up your pace. The pavement makes it ideal in all seasons, even after rain, and it stays usable year-round as long as there’s no heavy ice or snow. Expect street parking only, keep dogs leashed, watch for cyclists on warmer days, and don’t be shocked by the constant hum of the powerlines or the bunnies darting around the edges of the path.
