Trail Description

Campbell Valley Little River Trail in Langley, BC is the kind of loop you hit when you want fresh air without a workout. At just 2.3 km with almost no elevation gain, it’s an easy, flat wander through classic Campbell Valley Park scenery that usually takes under half an hour. People come here to stretch their legs, walk the dog, or get the kids outside without any complaints about hills.

The loop winds through shady forest and along the little river, with long, compact, wide sections that feel more like a park path than a rugged hike. Boardwalks carry you over wet areas and give you a closer look at the water and marsh, and it’s a solid spot for birdwatching, especially chickadees that like to hang out near the trail. Even though it’s close to town, Campbell Valley Little River Trail feels quiet once you leave the parking lot, with lots of greenery and calm views.

Recent visitors say the trail is very well maintained, mostly shaded, and currently “beautiful,” but note that some sections on the east side and a few nearby paths have been closed on and off for construction and maintenance. After rain, some spots can get a bit slippery, especially on the boardwalks, so decent footwear is smart even though the route is very easy. The loop is kid friendly, dog friendly, and parts are wheelchair accessible, making it a reliable, low-effort walk from roughly February through October, with winter still doable if you’re fine with mud and cooler temps.
