Trail Description
The Golden Ears Bridge to Fort Langley Trail is a flat, easy riverside route that links the Golden Ears Bridge area to historic Fort Langley in Langley, BC. At 12.9 km point-to-point with only 73 m of gain and a max elevation around 25 m, it’s more about steady movement and big sky than climbing. Expect around two and a half hours of relaxed walking if you do the full stretch one way.
The trail follows the Fraser River for long sections, with open views, farm fields, and the occasional glimpse of mountains on a clear day. The first bit through town can feel loud and busy, but it’s short, and once you’re out along the dike the vibe shifts to quiet and scenic. You’ll share the route with a lot of cyclists and runners, so stay right and keep your head up, especially on narrow sections.
Recent hikers say the Golden Ears Bridge to Fort Langley Trail is in good shape and “flat and enjoyable,” but parking under the Golden Ears Bridge in Langley is now lined with no-parking signs. A better bet is to park near Derby Reach, around 208th Street and Allard Crescent, and walk or ride from there toward the Fort Langley pub; that version works out closer to 20 km return. This route is popular year-round, with the best conditions typically January through October, and it’s a solid choice for an easy long walk, training ride, or casual outing with lots of options to grab food and explore Fort Langley at the end.
