Trail Description

Bridal Trail and Spirit Trail Loop in Harrison Hot Springs is a short, easy forest loop with a quirky twist. At just 3.5 km with about 100 m of gentle gain, it’s more of a relaxed wander than a workout, and usually takes under an hour. The real draw here is the quiet feel, the dense coastal forest, and the carved masks tucked into the trees along the Spirit Trail section.

The loop winds through a mix of marshy lowland and shady second-growth forest, with lots of roots underfoot to keep you watching your step. The Spirit Trail side is the highlight, with those hidden masks, wildlife sightings, and a cool, oxygen-rich feel under the tall trees. Views are mostly intimate forest scenes rather than big panoramas, so this is a trail for people who like the details: mossy logs, birds, and the odd wobbly little bridge.

Recent hikers report lots of mud, pooled water, and even flooded sections on the Bridal Trail side, including a broken or submerged bridge at times, especially after heavy rain. If you’re here in the wet season, expect deep puddles, marsh insects, and bring waterproof boots or be ready to turn around and stick to the Spirit Trail loop. The trail is well marked and generally uncrowded, but watch for roots, slick spots, and signs of bears, and save the full Bridal Trail and Spirit Trail Loop for drier months when the route isn’t underwater.
