Trail Description

Wickenden Park Loop in North Vancouver is a super short, super easy wander through a pocket of second-growth forest above Deep Cove. At just 1.3 km with only 36 m of gain and a max elevation around 71 m, it’s more of a gentle stroll than a hike, usually wrapped up in about 20 minutes. Think quick leg-stretcher on the way to downtown Deep Cove rather than a destination trail.

The “loop” shown for Wickenden Park is really a mix of park paths and nearby residential streets, since the actual trails just cut through the park to connect neighbourhoods. You’ll walk on a blend of smooth dirt, a few boardwalk sections, and short road links, with no real climbs and no viewpoints of Burrard Inlet despite being close to the water. It’s quiet, shaded, and feels like a local greenway more than a classic North Vancouver hike.

Recent hikers are clear: Wickenden Park Loop is best used as a convenient cut-through or to tack a few extra minutes onto a Deep Cove walk, not as a feature outing. There’s limited “wow” factor, so set expectations low and enjoy it as an easy dog walk or family-friendly wander; dogs must stay leashed. Street parking is usually straightforward along Eastwood Road, the route is usable year-round, and because it’s so short and mellow, it’s an easy option on rainy days or when you just want a quick, low-commitment outing close to Deep Cove.
