Trail Description
Seymour River Suspension Bridge Loop via Twin Bridges Trail is one of those North Vancouver routes that feels easy but still gives you a full day-hike vibe. The loop is about 7.2 km with only 238 m of gain, so it’s friendly for newer hikers, families, and anyone just looking for a relaxed forest walk that still feels like you actually went somewhere. Expect roughly two hours on trail if you’re moving at a steady but not rushed pace.
The main route follows wide, well-maintained gravel paths along the Seymour River, with side trails ducking into the trees if you want something a bit more rugged. The suspension bridge is the clear highlight, with solid river views and the sound of small waterfalls and cascades all along the way. Sections like Mystery Creek and the upper loop give you narrower, steeper stretches and more of that classic North Shore forest feel, with big trees, moss, and a few rooty, rocky bits to keep it interesting.
Recent hikers say this area is busy, especially on weekends and late mornings, with lots of dogs (often off leash) and a steady flow of bikes on shared paths, so keep right and stay alert. The trail can get very wet and muddy in fall and winter, but it’s open year-round and still very doable thanks to the gentle grades and good maintenance. Construction on the lower bridge has come and gone, so check current reports before you go, aim for earlier starts to avoid crowds, and plan a quick stop at the river for some of the best views on the Seymour River Suspension Bridge Loop via Twin Bridges Trail.
