Trail Description
Kelvin Grove Trail is a short, super easy stroll linking the Lions Bay and Kelvin Grove neighbourhoods just off the Sea-to-Sky, often confused as being in West Vancouver but actually in Lions Bay, BC. At only 0.8 km with about 12 m of elevation gain, it’s more of a relaxed walk than a hike, ideal when you just want a quick leg stretch with ocean air and mountain views around you.
The trail runs parallel to the highway, weaving between homes, trees, and glimpses of Howe Sound. You’ll get views over the bay and easy access down to Lions Bay Beach Park and the marina area, making Kelvin Grove Trail a nice add-on to a shoreline wander or a quick out-and-back before or after a drive up the Sea-to-Sky.
Kelvin Grove Trail in Lions Bay is open year-round and stays usable in most weather, though it can be wet and a bit slick after heavy rain, so basic runners with grip are a good idea. Dogs are allowed on leash, and it’s popular with locals walking the dog or going for a quick jog, so expect some company but not heavy crowds if you go early or later in the day. Parking is usually found near the marina on Lions Bay Avenue or along Tidewater Way where signs allow, so watch the parking rules because they’re enforced, especially on sunny weekends.
