Trail Description

The Holly Goes Lightly and Enzoloope Trail Loop in North Vancouver is a short but punchy 4.8 km loop with about 257 m of gain, hitting a max of around 224 m. It’s rated moderate, but the mix of stairs, roots, and rocky stretches makes it feel like a “real” hike without eating your whole day. Expect around 1 hour 45 minutes on trail, plus extra time if you stop at Quarry Rock or any of the little viewpoints along the way.

The loop usually starts from Deep Cove, dropping down toward the Quarry Rock lookout on the Baden Powell before branching onto the smaller Holly Goes Lightly and Enzoloope sections. The main approach to Quarry Rock is wide, obvious, and very busy, with steady stairs and a constant stream of people, especially on weekends and even midweek mornings. Once you peel off the Baden Powell, the trail gets narrower, more overgrown, and quieter, with some rocky bits and short viewpoints over Indian Arm if you follow the route carefully.

Recent hikers report heavy traffic and noise on the main route, so go early morning or later in the day if you want it calmer. Parts of Holly Goes Lightly and Enzoloope are unmarked or poorly marked, with sections that can be hard to follow, so keep an eye on your GPS and look for orange markers where they exist. Expect wet roots and rocks after rain, some mud but usually manageable, and occasional closures or detours around the main Quarry Rock access and Hurricane Ridge area, so check current info before you go and be ready to backtrack if you lose the loop on the downhill side.
