Trail Description
The Centennial Seawalk via Millennium Park in West Vancouver is one of those easy city walks that still feels like a mini escape. At 4.7 km out-and-back with barely any elevation, it’s more of a relaxed seaside stroll than a hike, and most people finish it in under an hour without breaking a sweat. It links nicely with other parts of the West Vancouver seawall, so you can extend your walk if you’re not ready to head home.
The entire Centennial Seawalk is paved or on smooth pathway, wide enough that walkers, runners, and strollers can all move without crowding each other. You’ve got the ocean at your side almost the whole way, with constant views across Burrard Inlet toward Stanley Park, the Lions Gate Bridge, and the downtown skyline. Benches, beach access, and a few grassy spots make it easy to stop, people-watch, or just listen to the waves for a while.
Recent visitors describe the Centennial Seawalk via Millennium Park as very well maintained, calm, and “can’t go wrong” for an easy oceanfront outing, but note that it’s not ideal for pets. Officially, dogs are only allowed between 19th and 24th Street, and they must stay behind the fence, so check the signage if you’re bringing one. The route works year-round thanks to the paving, though it can be windy and damp in winter; in late summer, keep an eye out for blackberry bushes along the way for a quick trailside snack.
