Trail Description

Twin Falls Loop in North Vancouver is the classic “short but not boring” hike. At just 1.3 km with about 46 m of gain, it sounds like a quick stroll, but all those stairs make it feel more like a mini workout with big payoff. You get waterfalls, a suspension bridge, and lush Lynn Canyon scenery in under half an hour of moving time.

The loop drops you into cool, mossy forest, with sections of smooth wooden boardwalk mixed with dirt trail, roots, and rocks. You’ll cross the famous Lynn Canyon suspension bridge, then wander along the creek to viewpoints of Twin Falls and the lower cascades, where the water crashes through a narrow gorge. Go counterclockwise for a long staircase down and a more gradual climb out, and watch for the swimming hole off to the right after the falls in warmer weather.

Recent visitors say the Twin Falls Loop is easy and very family friendly, but the many stairs can feel moderate if you have knee issues or aren’t used to climbing. The trail is well marked and well maintained, with washrooms and a café at the main Lynn Canyon entrance; parking can be a headache and it gets busy on sunny weekends, so aim for early mornings or weekdays. The loop is open year-round and usually in good shape, but expect crowds in summer and bring good footwear for damp boardwalks and roots after rain.
