Trail Description

Sticks and Stones MTB Trail Loop in North Vancouver is a quick hit of flowy singletrack that doesn’t demand a ton of time or fitness. At 2.6 km with about 83 m of gain and a max elevation around 236 m, it’s an easy-rated ride or hike that usually takes under half an hour, making it ideal as a warm-up, cool-down, or add-on to a longer day in the Mount Fromme network.

The trail itself is classic North Vancouver cross-country: rolling, twisty, and playful, with sharp turns, short ups and downs, and a smooth, swoopy feel most of the way. You can link into Sticks and Stones from Birdie Trail, Cardiac Bypass, or Slippery Salamander, so it slots nicely into a bigger loop if you want more distance or variety, and you’ll get that familiar forest vibe with roots, loam, and filtered light through the trees.

Current reports line up with the “easy” label, but it’s still a true North Shore trail, so expect roots, the odd slick patch, and a few tighter corners that keep you awake. The loop is rideable or hikeable most of the year, with January through August usually offering the best conditions, though winter rain can make things greasy and slower. Bring decent footwear or tires with grip, watch for other riders on blind corners, and use Sticks and Stones MTB Trail Loop as a fun connector or quick session spot in North Vancouver’s bigger trail system.
