Trail Description

Second Narrows Bridge Trail in North Vancouver is a quick, low-commitment loop that feels more like a fun urban adventure than a backcountry mission. At 4.7 km with only about 103 m of gain and a max elevation around 58 m, it’s very easy and usually done in just over an hour, making it an easy add-on before or after work.

The loop winds through forested sections and service roads near the Second Narrows Bridge, with peeks at industrial views, traffic, and the Burrard Inlet reminding you you’re close to the city. It’s a shared route with a lot of mountain bikers, so expect to step aside now and then, but most riders are used to hikers and handle the trail politely and confidently.

Right now, recent hikers say the Second Narrows Bridge Trail is still more of a mountain biking zone than a classic walking path, and it can be quite noisy from bridge traffic and industrial sounds. If you’re sensitive to noise, this isn’t a quiet forest escape, but it’s solid if you want an easy, flat loop to stretch your legs year-round. Go with good awareness, keep dogs leashed and close, and try for off-peak times if you’d like fewer bikes and a slightly calmer experience.
