Trail Description

The Sea to Sky Trail in North Vancouver is a mellow, forest-and-river walk that quietly links Lynn Canyon to the waterfront. At 11.9 km return with only 235 m of gain and a max altitude around 173 m, it’s more about steady movement than grinding climbs. Most people finish it in about three hours, making it an easy, low-stress option when you want time on your feet without a big mission.

Starting from the Lynn Canyon side, the Sea to Sky Trail feels like a classic North Vancouver forest route, with wooden boardwalks, roots, and rolling terrain beside Lynn Creek. As you move through Inter River Park toward Bridgman, Lynnmouth, and Harbourview, the trail shifts from deep trees to smoother paths, more open sky, and eventually a more urban, industrial shoreline vibe near the lookout tower.

Right now, people are calling it a well-maintained, easy walk with lots of ongoing trail improvements and plenty of boardwalks, so you’re not fighting mud the whole way. Many locals like starting at Inter River Park to get the gentle uphill done first, then cruise back downhill, and this section is very dog-friendly with popular off-leash stretches. Expect more traffic noise and a town feel near the south end, plan for year-round use with extra grip in wet months, and use the Sea to Sky Trail when you want simple exercise in the woods without worrying about technical terrain or big elevation.
