Trail Description

Lynn Canyon via Baden Powell and Sea to Sky Trail is one of the best ways to see the “greatest hits” of Lynn Canyon in North Vancouver in a single go. At 8.5 km point to point with only about 124 m of gain and a max altitude around 217 m, it’s an easy route that most people finish in just over two hours, assuming you’re not stopping every five minutes for photos, which is tempting here.

The trail links up classic Lynn Canyon scenery with forest singletrack, endless boardwalks, and a mix of creek views, waterfalls, and lush coastal forest. Expect more crowds around the Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge, visitor centre, and main waterfall area, then a quieter feel once you’re deeper along the Baden Powell and Sea to Sky sections. It’s a relaxed walk with negligible elevation, so you can focus on the scenery instead of your lungs.

Recent hikers report the Lynn Canyon via Baden Powell and Sea to Sky Trail as muddy in sections, so waterproof shoes are a good idea, especially in the shoulder seasons. The route has been busy and slow at peak times, with lots of people near the main viewpoints and even swimmers by the falls, so go early or on a weekday if you want a calmer experience. There have also been occasional partial closures near the end of the route, so check current park updates and be prepared that you might not be able to complete the last stretch, even though most of the trail remains fully accessible and dog friendly, with popular off-leash sections away from the main hub.
