Trail Description
Lynn Canyon Loop via Baden Powell Trail in North Vancouver is a short hike with a lot going on in a small package. At 5.6 km with about 223 m of gain, it’s rated easy on paper, but the constant stairs make it feel more like a steady workout than a flat walk in the park.
The loop winds through cool, dense forest, past waterfalls, rushing creeks, and the famous Lynn Canyon Suspension Bridge. You’ll pass Twin Falls and the 30 Foot Pool area, where swimmers and cliff jumpers crowd in on warm days, but once you’re back on the Baden Powell Trail it quiets down again and feels more like a local trail than a tourist spot.
Recent hikers say the Lynn Canyon Loop via Baden Powell Trail is well maintained with a mix of gravel, packed dirt, wooden stairs, and some slippery sections, so good shoes matter. Expect lots of stairs, some chain-link fencing, and occasional detours or “trail closed” signs where stairs are being rebuilt, so be ready to adjust your route. Go early in the day, especially in summer, to dodge the worst of the crowds and find parking near Lillooet Road, and think twice about weekends if you don’t like busy trails. Dogs are allowed but the steep steps and drop-offs make it tricky for leash-pulling or less cautious pups.
