Trail Description
Lynn Canyon Loop in North Vancouver is the classic “short but spicy” walk: just 2.3 km long with about 109 m of gain, yet packed with views, stairs, and cold, clear water. It usually takes around 45–60 minutes, but you’ll probably linger at the 30 Foot Pool, Twin Falls, or the suspension bridge. This loop is rated easy on paper, though the stair sections make it feel more like a light workout than a flat stroll.
On the trail, you’ll wind through shaded West Coast forest on well-built paths, boardwalks, and endless stairs, with the river flashing in and out beside you. The Lynn Canyon suspension bridge gives you a high, airy look straight down into the canyon, and the pools below are a popular spot to cool off, watch cliff jumpers, or just sit and listen to the water. Even in the rain it stays grippy and manageable with decent footwear, and the forest cover keeps things comfortable on hot days.
Right now, note that the Lynn Canyon suspension bridge is closed for repairs through December 2025, so you can’t complete the full loop and will need to treat it as an out‑and‑back or partial loop from the Twin Falls side. Expect crowds, tour buses, and a very busy pool area on weekends; arrive early or try a weekday if you want a quieter experience and a shot at parking. There are a lot of stairs, which can be tough for small kids or older knees, but great if you’re after a quick “stairmaster” session, and the water is always cold, so bring a towel and something warm if you plan to swim.
