Trail Description

Lost Lagoon and Rose Garden Loop is actually in Stanley Park in Vancouver, not North Vancouver, and it’s one of the easiest city walks you can do. This 3.2 km loop has barely any elevation gain, takes under an hour, and feels more like a relaxed stroll than a hike. It’s a solid choice if you want a quick reset after work or a low-effort outing with kids or visitors.

The loop links the Stanley Park Rose Garden with the path around Lost Lagoon, mixing manicured gardens with a more natural, urban-wild feel. Expect paved and well‑groomed paths, lots of joggers, cyclists nearby, and plenty of bird life on the water. Views are more about city-meets-nature than big mountain scenery, with glimpses of downtown Vancouver and the lagoon as you go.

Recent visitors mention that the section around the rose garden parking lot has had some no‑access areas, so you may need to follow a slightly higher detour than what some maps show. The path is busy, and bikes move fast, so stay on the marked trail and keep right to avoid close calls. The water edge around Lost Lagoon can smell a bit funky at times, especially on hot days, but the route is open year‑round and is easiest in dry weather; just bring a light layer for wind and keep dogs leashed as required in Stanley Park.
