Trail Description

Bowser Trail in North Vancouver is a short, flat urban escape that’s ideal when you want fresh air without committing to a big hike. At just 1.8 km with about 16 m of gain, it’s more of a relaxed walk than a workout, and most people finish it in around 20 minutes. It’s a straightforward out-and-back route, easy to follow and easy on the knees.

The path is smooth gravel and wide enough for strollers, making Bowser Trail a solid choice for families, dog walkers, and casual runners. You’re walking between residential areas, but tall trees and partial shade keep it feeling a bit more like a green corridor than a city sidewalk. There’s a playground roughly halfway, which makes a handy turnaround point or bribe for kids who need extra motivation.

Recent hikers point out a nice twist: you can use the wooden stairs at the start of the Bowser Trail and the cement stairs halfway along to climb up to Keith Road and turn this flat route into more of a cardio loop. That’s a good way to turn an easy three-star stroll into a more challenging five-star workout. The trail is open year-round, usually clear and usable in all seasons, but expect it to be busier before and after work when locals squeeze in a quick walk.
