Trail Description
The Twin Bridges, Fisherman's and Baden Powell Trail Loop in North Vancouver is a solid choice when you want something easy but not boring. At 6.1 km with about 194 m of gain, it’s rated easy, but expect a bit of a workout in places rather than a flat stroll. Most people can cruise through it well under the listed 1 hour 45 minutes, especially if you keep a steady pace.
The loop mixes wide, well-used paths along the Seymour River with short climbs up into the forest on the Baden Powell. You get two main highlights: the Twin Bridges area over the river and a few viewpoints where you can pause, listen to the water, and, according to recent hikers, sneak in a smooch if that’s your thing. The scenery is classic North Vancouver: rushing water, second-growth forest, and a well-marked route that’s easy to follow without constantly checking a map.
Current reports say the trail is generally easy, but the switchbacks after the second bridge and the last half of the loop feel more like a solid intermediate climb. The grade kicks up but it’s short-lived and manageable for most beginners who are okay with hills. Expect an easy-to-navigate, wide trail with some steeper sections, and check Metro Vancouver’s advisories before you go, as Fisherman’s Trail near Mystery Creek has had partial closures in the past. The Twin Bridges, Fisherman's and Baden Powell Trail Loop is hikeable year-round, though it can be hot on sunny days with limited shade on the wider paths, so bring water and don’t underestimate those final climbs.
